Dental Tip: Dental Insurance.
Dental Insurance is very different than medical insurance. Most policies have a yearly maximum between $1000.00 and $2000.00 a year. There are also many different policies, some which cover major work and some do not. Some policies cover cleanings two times a year any time and some state cleanings must be six months apart. It is very important that you know your dental policy. Many of the major carriers have websites and 1-800 numbers you can call to find out exactly what your coverage is.
Most insurance policies run January to December. If you have insurance benefits left for 2012 you may want to consider using them instead of losing them. Most policies do not let you roll over benefits.
You can also help your dentist by knowing your policy numbers and if your insurance carrier has changed since your last visit. Not all dentists are participating with all insurance, but many have out of network benefits built in. Contact your dental office if you have any specific questions.

Dental Care in India
Steve:
always get the information, (detailed) so there is no mis-communication. It is great way to do the best for your patient and have a long-standing relationship. Insurance allows our communities to seek out dental care, and by us (the dentists) assuring the benefits are maximized, is a great service for the patient
